पूर्वमेवादिदेशासौ निकायेषु महात्मनाम् ।
समर्थं च तमैश्वर्ये महामतिरमन्यत ॥४७॥

samarthaṁ ca tamaiśvarye mahāmatiramanyata.

47. mahāmatiḥ asau pūrvam eva mahātmanām nikāyeṣu ādiśat,

47. The wise creator had indeed previously assigned him a place among the great beings, and considered him capable of exercising lordship.
