महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-43, verse-15

वर्धता चैव गर्भेण पृथिवी तेन रञ्जिता ।
अतश्च सर्वे संवृत्ता गिरयः काञ्चनाकराः ॥१५॥
15. vardhatā caiva garbheṇa pṛthivī tena rañjitā ,
ataśca sarve saṁvṛttā girayaḥ kāñcanākarāḥ.

ataḥ ca sarve saṃvṛttā girayaḥ kāñcanākarāḥ
15. ca eva tena vardhatā garbheṇa pṛthivī rañjitā.

15. And indeed, by that growing embryo, the earth itself was imbued with color. Thus, all mountains became mines of gold.
