महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-2, verse-18

तपोऽभ्युदीर्णं तपसैव गम्यते बलं बलेनापि तथा मनस्विभिः ।
मनश्च मे शत्रुनिवारणे ध्रुवं स्वरक्षणे चाचलवद्व्यवस्थितम् ॥१८॥
18. tapo'bhyudīrṇaṁ tapasaiva gamyate; balaṁ balenāpi tathā manasvibhiḥ ,
manaśca me śatrunivāraṇe dhruvaṁ; svarakṣaṇe cācalavadvyavasthitam.
18. tapaḥ abhyudīrṇam tapasā eva gamyate
balam balena api tathā manasvibhiḥ
| manaḥ ca me śatrunivāraṇe dhruvam
svarakṣaṇe ca acalavat vyavasthitam
18. abhyudīrṇam tapaḥ tapasā eva gamyate; tathā balam balena api gamyate,

18. Greatly increased austerity (tapas) is attained only by austerity (tapas); similarly, strength (balam) is attained by strength, and also by the resolute-minded (manasvibhiḥ). And my mind (manaḥ) is firmly fixed, like an immovable mountain, both in repelling enemies and in self-protection.
