27. The great archer stood firm there, countering that weapon with his arrows. Then, Shikhaṇḍī took up another fierce Vāruṇa weapon to counteract it. The gods in the sky and the earthly beings watched as that [first] weapon was being torn apart by [Shikhaṇḍī's] weapon.
