महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-81, verse-14

अथैत्य राजा युधि सत्यसंधो जयद्रथोऽत्युग्रबलो मनस्वी ।
चिच्छेद चापानि महारथानां प्रसह्य तेषां धनुषा वरेण ॥१४॥
14. athaitya rājā yudhi satyasaṁdho; jayadratho'tyugrabalo manasvī ,
ciccheda cāpāni mahārathānāṁ; prasahya teṣāṁ dhanuṣā vareṇa.

14. Then, King Jayadratha, truthful to his vows (satyasaṃdha), extremely powerful, and resolute (manasvī), having arrived in battle, forcibly cut the bows of those great charioteers with his excellent bow.
