अपत्यार्थः समारम्भः कृतो धर्मेप्सया मया ।
पुत्रा मे बहवो देवि भवेयुः कुलभावनाः ॥१४॥

apatyārthaḥ samārambhaḥ kṛto dharmepsayā mayā ,

Aśvapati spoke: 'O Goddess, this endeavor (samārambha) was undertaken by me with the desire for progeny as a duty (dharma). May I have many sons who will maintain the family line.'
