महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-246, verse-19

निराहारस्तु स मुनिरुञ्छमार्जयते पुनः ।
न चैनं विक्रियां नेतुमशकन्मुद्गलं क्षुधा ॥१९॥
19. nirāhārastu sa muniruñchamārjayate punaḥ ,
na cainaṁ vikriyāṁ netumaśakanmudgalaṁ kṣudhā.
19. nirāhāraḥ tu saḥ muniḥ uñcham ārjayate punaḥ na
ca enam vikriyām netum aśakat mudgalam kṣudhā
19. But that sage (Mudgala), remaining without food, again collected his gleanings. And hunger was unable to lead Mudgala to any change (vikriyā) in his disposition.
