तपसो यः प्रभावेन वर्षयामास वासवम् ।

3. He, by the power of his austerities (tapas), made Vasava (Indra) cause rain. And out of fear of the drought (caused by) him, Indra, the slayer of Bala and Vritra, made it rain.
