महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-219, verse-4

स्वतेजोभास्वरं चक्रमुत्ससर्ज जनार्दनः ।
तेन ता जातयः क्षुद्राः सदानवनिशाचराः ।
निकृत्ताः शतशः सर्वा निपेतुरनलं क्षणात् ॥४॥
4. svatejobhāsvaraṁ cakramutsasarja janārdanaḥ ,
tena tā jātayaḥ kṣudrāḥ sadānavaniśācarāḥ ,
nikṛttāḥ śataśaḥ sarvā nipeturanalaṁ kṣaṇāt.

4. Janardana (Krishna) released his discus, resplendent with his own power. By its action, all those contemptible creatures, including the daityas and night-wanderers (rākṣasas), were cut down by hundreds and instantly fell into the fire.
