न त्यागः कर्मसंत्यागो बोधस्त्याग इति स्मृतः ।
अजगत्प्रतिभैकात्मा योऽनहंतादिरव्ययः ॥ २ ॥

Renunciation (tyāga) is not the mere abandonment of actions (karma). Rather, that knowledge (bodha) is considered true renunciation (tyāga) which has the non-appearance of the world as its sole essence (ātman), which is free from ego (ahaṅkāra) and similar concepts, and which is imperishable.
