योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-58, verse-45

यावदन्यन्न संत्यक्तं तावत्सामान्यमेव हि ।
वस्तु नासाद्यते साधो स्वात्मलाभे तु का कथा ॥ ४५ ॥
yāvadanyanna saṃtyaktaṃ tāvatsāmānyameva hi ,
vastu nāsādyate sādho svātmalābhe tu kā kathā 45
45. yāvat anyat na saṃtyaktam tāvat sāmānyam eva hi
vastu na āsādyate sādho svātmalābhe tu kā kathā
45. sādho yāvat anyat na saṃtyaktam tāvat sāmānyam
vastu eva hi na āsādyate svātmalābhe tu kā kathā
45. O virtuous one, as long as something else is not completely given up, even an ordinary object is certainly not attained. What, then, can be said about the attainment of one's own Self (ātman)?
