वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-17, verse-9

तं तथा पतितं संख्ये गतार्चिषमिवानलम् ।
ययातिमिव पुण्यान्ते देवलोकात् परिच्युतम् ॥९॥
9. taṃ tathā patitaṃ saṃkhye gatārciṣamivānalam ,
yayātimiva puṇyānte devalokāt paricyutam.

yayātim iva puṇyānte devalokāt paricyutam
9. saṅkhye tathā patitam tam gataarciṣam analam
iva puṇyānte devalokāt paricyutam yayātim iva
9. Him, thus fallen in battle, like a fire whose flames have departed, or like Yayati fallen from the heavenly realms (devaloka) at the exhaustion of his merits.
