samīkṣya rāmaṃ ravisaṃnikāśaṃ tūṣṇīṃ babhūvāmararājasūnuḥ.

Having spoken these words, the great-souled (mahātmā) son of the king of gods (Vāli), whose mouth was parched and who was tormented by the arrows' impact, looked upon Rama, who shone like the sun, and then became silent.
