वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-49, verse-22

बद्धस्त्वं कालपाशेन क्व गतस्तस्य मोक्ष्यसे ।
वधाय बडिशं गृह्य सामिषं जलजो यथा ॥२२॥
22. baddhastvaṃ kālapāśena kva gatastasya mokṣyase ,
vadhāya baḍiśaṃ gṛhya sāmiṣaṃ jalajo yathā.
22. baddhaḥ tvam kālapāśena kva gataḥ tasya mokṣyase
vadhāya baḍiśam gṛhya sāmiṣam jalajaḥ yathā
22. tvam kālapāśena baddhaḥ (asi),
kva gataḥ tasya mokṣyase? yathā sāmiṣam baḍiśam gṛhya jalajaḥ vadhāya (gacchati,
tathā tvam).
22. You are bound by the noose of Death (kāla); having gone where will you find liberation (mokṣa) from it? It is just like an aquatic creature, taking a baited hook, for its own destruction.
