वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-35, verse-21

कृतकृत्या हि वैदेही छायेवानुगता पतिम् ।
न जहाति रता धर्मे मेरुमर्कप्रभा यथा ॥२१॥
21. kṛtakṛtyā hi vaidehī chāyevānugatā patim ,
na jahāti ratā dharme merumarkaprabhā yathā.
21. kṛtakṛtyā hi vaidehī chāyā iva anugatā patim
na jahāti ratā dharme merum arkaprabhā yathā
21. hi vaidehī kṛtakṛtyā chāyā iva patim anugatā
ratā dharme na jahāti yathā arkaprabhā merum
21. Indeed, Vaidehi, having perfectly fulfilled her duties, follows her husband like a shadow. Devoted to her intrinsic nature (dharma), she does not abandon him, just as the sun's radiance never leaves Mount Meru.
