स एव जातकाधीशो विज्ञेयो द्विजसत्तम ।
यथा भूमौ प्रसिद्धोऽस्ति नराणां क्षितिपालकः ॥७॥

That (ātmakāraka) indeed should be known as the lord of the natal chart, O best among Brahmins (dvijasattama), just as a king (kṣitipālaka) is well-known as the protector of people on earth.
