In discerning (the significators), a planet should certainly not be taken as the significator of the self (ātmakāraka) due to an excess of its signs and minutes (i.e., only degrees within a sign matter). The planet with the highest degrees should be the significator (kāraka), and the one with the lowest degrees is the final significator (antyakāraka).
