मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-78, verse-21

ततोऽश्वरूपधृग्भानुरुत्तरानगमत् कुरून् ।
तदृशे तत्र संज्ञाञ्च वडवारूपधारिणीम् ॥२१॥
21. tato'śvarūpadhṛgbhānuruttarānagamat kurūn .
tadṛśe tatra saṃjñāñca vaḍavārūpadhāriṇīm.
21. tataḥ aśvarūpadhṛk bhānuḥ uttarān agamat kurūn
tat dṛśe tatra saṃjñām ca vaḍavārūpadhāriṇīm
21. Then, the Sun (Bhānu), having assumed the form of a horse, went to the northern Kurus. There he saw Saṃjñā, who had taken the form of a mare.
