मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-6, verse-22

कारण्डवैः प्लवैर्हंसैः कूर्मैर्मद्गुभिरेव च ।
एभिश्चान्यैश्च कीर्णानि समन्ताज्जलचारिभिः ॥२२॥
22. kāraṇḍavaiḥ plavairhaṃsaiḥ kūrmairmadgubhireva ca .
ebhiścānyaiśca kīrṇāni samantājjalacāribhiḥ.
22. kāraṇḍavaiḥ plavaiḥ haṃsaiḥ kūrmaiḥ madgubhiḥ eva ca
| ebhiḥ ca anyaiḥ ca kīrṇāni samantāt jalacāribhiḥ
22. It was also completely covered all around by karandava ducks, diving birds, swans, tortoises, and cormorants, as well as by these and other water-dwellers.
