मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-12, verse-13

हिमखण्डवहो वायुर्भिनत्त्यस्थीनि दारुणः ।
मज्जासृग्गलितं तस्मादश्नुवन्ति क्षुधान्विताः ॥१३॥
13. himakhaṇḍavaho vāyurbhinattyasthīni dāruṇaḥ .
majjāsṛggalitaṃ tasmādaśnuvanti kṣudhānvitāḥ.
13. himakhaṇḍavahaḥ vāyuḥ bhinatti asthīni dāruṇaḥ
majjāsṛk galitam tasmāt aśnuvanti kṣudhānvitāḥ
13. The dreadful wind, carrying chunks of ice, shatters the bones. Consequently, those tormented by hunger consume the oozing marrow and blood from them.
