मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-12, verse-1

पितोवाच ।
साधु वत्स त्वयाख्यातं संसारगहनं परम् ।
ज्ञानप्रदानसम्भूतं समाश्रित्य महाफलम् ॥१॥
1. pitovāca .
sādhu vatsa tvayākhyātaṃ saṃsāragahanaṃ param .
jñānapradānasambhūtaṃ samāśritya mahāphalam.
1. pitā uvāca sādhu vatsa tvayā ākhyātam saṃsāragahanam
param jñānapradānasambhūtam samāśritya mahāphalam
1. The father said: 'Well done, dear son! You have indeed accurately described the profound wilderness of transmigration (saṃsāra). (Understand that) by resorting (to the path of knowledge), one attains the great reward that arises from the bestowal of knowledge (jñāna).'
