महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-10, verse-22

सा पपात तदा छिन्ना प्रतिविन्ध्यशरैः शितैः ।
युगान्ते सर्वभूतानि त्रासयन्ती यथाशनिः ॥२२॥
22. sā papāta tadā chinnā prativindhyaśaraiḥ śitaiḥ ,
yugānte sarvabhūtāni trāsayantī yathāśaniḥ.

22. That spear, thus cut into pieces by Prativindhya's sharp arrows, then fell, just like a thunderbolt (aśani) that terrifies all creatures at the end of a cosmic age (yuga).
