महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-8, verse-27

तत्र पाल्योऽर्जुनो राजन्यदि मत्प्रियमिच्छसि ।
तेजोवधश्च ते कार्यः सौतेरस्मज्जयावहः ।
अकर्तव्यमपि ह्येतत्कर्तुमर्हसि मातुल ॥२७॥
27. tatra pālyo'rjuno rājanyadi matpriyamicchasi ,
tejovadhaśca te kāryaḥ sauterasmajjayāvahaḥ ,
akartavyamapi hyetatkartumarhasi mātula.

matpriyam icchasi tejovadhaḥ ca te kāryaḥ
sauteḥ asmat jayāvahaḥ akartavyam
api hi etat kartum arhasi mātula
27. O King, if you desire what is dear to me, then Arjuna is to be protected. And you must diminish the glory of the charioteer's son (Karna) – this will bring us victory. O maternal uncle, even if this is an improper act, you should perform it.
