महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-8, verse-26

भवानिह महाराज वासुदेवसमो युधि ।
कर्णार्जुनाभ्यां संप्राप्ते द्वैरथे राजसत्तम ।
कर्णस्य भवता कार्यं सारथ्यं नात्र संशयः ॥२६॥
26. bhavāniha mahārāja vāsudevasamo yudhi ,
karṇārjunābhyāṁ saṁprāpte dvairathe rājasattama ,
karṇasya bhavatā kāryaṁ sārathyaṁ nātra saṁśayaḥ.
26. bhavān iha mahārāja vāsudevasamaḥ
yudhi karṇārjunābhyām samprāpte
dvairathe rājasattama karṇasya bhavatā
kāryam sārathyam na atra saṃśayaḥ
26. O great king, you are equal to Vasudeva (Krishna) in battle. O best of kings, when a duel takes place between Karna and Arjuna, your duty is to be Karna's charioteer; there is no doubt about this.
