महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-43, verse-33

तस्य पर्येषणं गच्छेत्प्राचीनं नोत दक्षिणम् ।

33. One should undertake a search for him, but not by going eastward, nor southward, nor westward, nor in any transverse direction, nor indeed by any means in any (specific) quarter.
