यद्वै ब्रूते कुरुमुख्यो महात्मा देवव्रतः सत्यसंधो मनीषी ।
सर्वं तदस्माभिरहत्य धर्मं ग्राह्यं स्वधर्मं परिपालयद्भिः ॥३३॥
33. yadvai brūte kurumukhyo mahātmā; devavrataḥ satyasaṁdho manīṣī ,
sarvaṁ tadasmābhirahatya dharmaṁ; grāhyaṁ svadharmaṁ paripālayadbhiḥ.

33. kurumukhyaḥ mahātmā devavrataḥ satyasaṃdhaḥ manīṣī yadvai brūte,

33. Whatever the chief of the Kurus, the great-souled Devavrata (Bhishma), who is truthful to his vows and wise, declares—all that should be accepted by us, who are upholding our own natural law (dharma), without violating the universal natural law (dharma).
