महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-103, verse-25

विपक्षः स्रस्तकायश्च विचेता विह्वलः खगः ।
मुमोच पत्राणि तदा गुरुभारप्रपीडितः ॥२५॥

25. The bird (Garuda), now wingless, with a drooping body, distraught and agitated, then dropped his feathers, being severely oppressed by the heavy burden.
