महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-67, verse-1

विराट उवाच ।
किमर्थं पाण्डवश्रेष्ठ भार्यां दुहितरं मम ।
प्रतिग्रहीतुं नेमां त्वं मया दत्तामिहेच्छसि ॥१॥
1. virāṭa uvāca ,
kimarthaṁ pāṇḍavaśreṣṭha bhāryāṁ duhitaraṁ mama ,
pratigrahītuṁ nemāṁ tvaṁ mayā dattāmihecchasi.
1. virāṭaḥ uvāca kimartham pāṇḍavaśreṣṭha bhāryām duhitaram
mama pratigrahītum na imām tvam mayā dattām iha icchasi
1. Virata said: "O best of the Pandavas, why do you not wish to accept my daughter, whom I am offering here, as a wife?"
