महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-284, verse-16

कुण्डलार्थे ब्रुवंस्तात कारणैर्बहुभिस्त्वया ।
अन्यैर्बहुविधैर्वित्तैः स निवार्यः पुनः पुनः ॥१६॥
16. kuṇḍalārthe bruvaṁstāta kāraṇairbahubhistvayā ,
anyairbahuvidhairvittaiḥ sa nivāryaḥ punaḥ punaḥ.

16. My dear one (tāta), when he pleads for the earrings, you should repeatedly dissuade him with many arguments and with various other kinds of riches.
