महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-72, verse-11

न कालो दण्डमुद्यम्य शिरः कृन्तति कस्यचित् ।
कालस्य बलमेतावद्विपरीतार्थदर्शनम् ॥११॥
11. na kālo daṇḍamudyamya śiraḥ kṛntati kasyacit ,
kālasya balametāvadviparītārthadarśanam.
11. na kālaḥ daṇḍam udyamya śiraḥ kṛntati kasyacit
kālasya balam etāvat viparītārthadarśanam
11. Time (Kāla) does not pick up a stick and cut off anyone's head. The power of Time (Kāla) is only this: it causes the perception of things in an inverted or perverse way.
