महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-10, verse-16

संवर्त उवाच ।
वज्रादुग्राद्व्येतु भयं तवाद्य वातो भूत्वा हन्मि नरेन्द्र वज्रम् ।
भयं त्यक्त्वा वरमन्यं वृणीष्व कं ते कामं तपसा साधयामि ॥१६॥
16. saṁvarta uvāca ,
vajrādugrādvyetu bhayaṁ tavādya; vāto bhūtvā hanmi narendra vajram ,
bhayaṁ tyaktvā varamanyaṁ vṛṇīṣva; kaṁ te kāmaṁ tapasā sādhayāmi.
16. Saṃvartaḥ uvāca | vajrāt ugrāt vyetu
bhayam tava adya vātaḥ bhūtvā hanmi
narendra vajram | bhayam tyaktvā varam
anyam vṛṇīṣva kam te kāmam tapasā sādhayāmi
16. Saṃvartaḥ uvāca: Narendra,
adya tava ugrāt vajrāt bhayam vyetu.
Vātaḥ bhūtvā vajram hanmi.
Bhayam tyaktvā anyam varam vṛṇīṣva.
Te kam kāmam tapasā sādhayāmi?
16. Saṃvarta said: 'Let your fear of the dreadful thunderbolt vanish today. Becoming the wind, O king, I will strike down the thunderbolt. Abandoning fear, choose another boon. What desire of yours shall I accomplish through ascetic practice (tapas)?'
