इन्द्र उवाच ।
एवमेतद्ब्रह्मबलं गरीयो न ब्रह्मतः किंचिदन्यद्गरीयः ।
आविक्षितस्य तु बलं न मृष्ये वज्रमस्मै प्रहरिष्यामि घोरम् ॥१॥

evametadbrahmabalaṁ garīyo; na brahmataḥ kiṁcidanyadgarīyaḥ ,
āvikṣitasya tu balaṁ na mṛṣye; vajramasmai prahariṣyāmi ghoram.

1. Indra said: 'It is indeed true that the power of (brahman) is superior, and nothing else is superior to (brahman). However, I will not tolerate the strength of Āvīkṣita; I will strike him with my terrible thunderbolt.'
