महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-321, verse-25

चत्वारो ह्याश्रमा देव सर्वे गार्हस्थ्यमूलकाः ।
यजन्ते त्वामहरहर्नानामूर्तिसमास्थितम् ॥२५॥
25. catvāro hyāśramā deva sarve gārhasthyamūlakāḥ ,
yajante tvāmaharaharnānāmūrtisamāsthitam.

yajante tvām ahar-ahaḥ nānā-mūrti-samāsthitam
25. deva hi sarve catvāraḥ āśramāḥ gārhasthya-mūlakāḥ

25. O Lord, indeed all four stages of life (āśramas) have the householder (gārhasthya) as their foundation. They worship you daily, who are situated in various forms.
