महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-284, verse-30

धर्मे तपसि दाने च विचिकित्सास्य जायते ।
स कृत्वा पापकान्येव निरयं प्रतिपद्यते ॥३०॥
30. dharme tapasi dāne ca vicikitsāsya jāyate ,
sa kṛtvā pāpakānyeva nirayaṁ pratipadyate.

sa kṛtvā pāpakāni eva nirayam pratipadyate
30. asya dharme tapasi dāne ca vicikitsā jāyate

30. Such a person develops doubt concerning their intrinsic nature (dharma), austerity (tapas), and charitable giving (dāna). As a result, having indeed committed sinful deeds, they ultimately enter hell.
