महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-284, verse-18

ये चादौ ब्रह्मणा सृष्टा ब्राह्मणास्तपसा पुरा ।
ते भावयन्तः पृथिवीं विचरन्ति दिवं तथा ॥१८॥

18. ye cādau brahmaṇā sṛṣṭā brāhmaṇāstapasā purā ,
te bhāvayantaḥ pṛthivīṁ vicaranti divaṁ tathā.

18. ye brāhmaṇāḥ ca ādau brahmaṇā purā tapasā sṛṣṭāḥ,

18. And those Brahmins, who were created long ago in the beginning by Brahmā through austerity (tapas), they sustain the earth and similarly move about in heaven.
