महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-5, verse-34

कथं च निहतः पापः पाञ्चालः पशुवन्मया ।
शस्त्राहवजितां लोकान्प्राप्नुयादिति मे मतिः ॥३४॥
34. kathaṁ ca nihataḥ pāpaḥ pāñcālaḥ paśuvanmayā ,
śastrāhavajitāṁ lokānprāpnuyāditi me matiḥ.
34. katham ca nihataḥ pāpaḥ Pāñcālaḥ paśuvat mayā
śastrāhavajitān lokān prāpnuyāt iti me matiḥ
34. ca katham mayā paśuvat nihataḥ pāpaḥ Pāñcālaḥ
śastrāhavajitān lokān prāpnuyāt? iti me matiḥ
34. And if that wicked Pañcāla is killed by me like an animal, how could he attain the worlds earned by those who die in battle (śastra-āhava)? This is my opinion.
