महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-5, verse-2

तथैव तावन्मेधावी विनयं यो न शिक्षति ।
न च किंचन जानाति सोऽपि धर्मार्थनिश्चयम् ॥२॥
2. tathaiva tāvanmedhāvī vinayaṁ yo na śikṣati ,
na ca kiṁcana jānāti so'pi dharmārthaniścayam.

2. Similarly, even an intelligent person who does not learn discipline and understands nothing whatsoever, he too cannot ascertain the true nature of natural law (dharma) and material prosperity (artha).
