महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-181, verse-6

ऊचुश्च वाचः परुषास्ते राजानो जिघांसवः ।
आहवे हि द्विजस्यापि वधो दृष्टो युयुत्सतः ॥६॥
6. ūcuśca vācaḥ paruṣāste rājāno jighāṁsavaḥ ,
āhave hi dvijasyāpi vadho dṛṣṭo yuyutsataḥ.
6. ūcuḥ ca vācaḥ paruṣāḥ te rājānaḥ jighāṃsavaḥ
āhave hi dvijasya api vadhaḥ dṛṣṭaḥ yuyutsataḥ
6. And those kings, wishing to kill, spoke harsh words: "Indeed, even the killing of a twice-born (dvija) who desires to fight is sanctioned in battle."
