महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-181, verse-21

एवमुक्तस्तु राधेयो युद्धात्कर्णो न्यवर्तत ।
ब्राह्मं तेजस्तदाजय्यं मन्यमानो महारथः ॥२१॥
21. evamuktastu rādheyo yuddhātkarṇo nyavartata ,
brāhmaṁ tejastadājayyaṁ manyamāno mahārathaḥ.
21. evam uktaḥ tu rādheyaḥ yuddhāt karṇaḥ nyavartata
brāhmaṃ tejaḥ tadā ajayyaṃ manyamānaḥ mahārathaḥ
21. However, Karna (Radheya), thus spoken to, withdrew from the battle, the great chariot-warrior considering that Brahminical (brāhma) spiritual power (tejas) to be invincible at that moment.
