एषां चान्यतमत्यागो नृशंसो गर्हितो बुधैः ।
आत्मत्यागे कृते चेमे मरिष्यन्ति मया विना ॥३९॥

39. Abandoning any one of these (people) is considered cruel and condemned by the wise. Moreover, if I were to sacrifice myself (ātman), these (remaining) would die without me.
