A person who, having reached a state of detachment from worldly existence (saṃsāra) and having resorted to the company of the good and to the scriptures, then by means of the understanding derived from those scriptures, rejects all sense enjoyments; such a person attains the ultimate reality due to the firmness of their dispassion.
