श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
संसारभारसुश्रान्तः संकटेषु लुठत्तनुः ।
योऽभिवाञ्छति विश्रान्तिं तस्य क्रममिमं श्रृणु ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca ,
saṃsārabhārasuśrāntaḥ saṃkaṭeṣu luṭhattanuḥ ,
yo'bhivāñchati viśrāntiṃ tasya kramamimaṃ śrṛṇu 1

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: "Hear this method for anyone who is exceedingly weary from the burden of transmigration (saṃsāra), whose body wallows in difficulties, and who desires rest."
