श्रीराम उवाच ।
दामव्यालकटन्यायो मा ते भूदित्युदाहृतम् ।
ब्रह्मन् किमेतद्भवता भवतापापहारिणा ॥ ३ ॥

Śrī Rāma said: "May the maxim of the rope-snake (illusion) not be for you" – thus has been declared. O reverend (brahman), what is this (maxim) from you, who removes the sufferings of cyclic existence (saṃsāra)?
