श्रेयसे तिष्ठतो यत्नमुत्तमार्थाभिधायिनः ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: (This instruction is for one) who moves freely in this world, who delights the people, who is intelligent, who strives for ultimate welfare, and who declares supreme truths.
