योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-2, verse-23

एवमाकाशकोशात्मा विशदाकाशरूपिणि ।
स्वकारणे स्थितो नित्यः कारणानि न कानिचित् ॥ २३ ॥
evamākāśakośātmā viśadākāśarūpiṇi ,
svakāraṇe sthito nityaḥ kāraṇāni na kānicit 23
23. evam ākāśakośātmā viśadākāśarūpiṇi
svakāraṇe sthitaḥ nityaḥ kāraṇāni na kānicit
23. evam ākāśakośātmā nityaḥ svakāraṇe viśadākāśarūpiṇi sthitaḥ,

23. Thus, the eternal Self (ātman), whose essence (ātman) is like a sheath of space, remains ever situated in its own cause, which is pure and of the nature of space. There are no causes whatsoever for it.
