योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-27, verse-7

तृष्णालताकाननचारिणोऽमी शाखाशतं काममहीरुहेषु ।
परिभ्रमन्तः क्षपयन्ति कालं मनोमृगा नो फलमाप्नुवन्ति ॥ ७ ॥
tṛṣṇālatākānanacāriṇo'mī śākhāśataṃ kāmamahīruheṣu ,
paribhramantaḥ kṣapayanti kālaṃ manomṛgā no phalamāpnuvanti 7
7. tṛṣṇālatākānanacāriṇaḥ amī śākhāśataṃ kāmamahīruheṣu

paribhramantaḥ kālaṃ kṣapayanti phalaṃ no āpnuvanti
7. These deer of the mind (manomṛgāḥ), which roam in the jungle of desire-creepers, wander around a hundred branches of the desire-trees. They merely waste their time and do not obtain any fruit.
