वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-11, verse-8

यदि नामात्र शक्यं स्यात् साम्ना दानेन वानघ ।
तरसा वा महाबाहो प्रत्यानेतुं कृतं भवेत् ॥८॥
8. yadi nāmātra śakyaṃ syāt sāmnā dānena vānagha ,
tarasā vā mahābāho pratyānetuṃ kṛtaṃ bhavet.
8. yadi na atra śakyam syāt sāmnā dānena vā anagha
tarasā vā mahābāho prati-ānetum kṛtam bhavet
8. anagha mahābāho yadi atra sāmnā vā dānena vā
prati-ānetum na śakyam syāt (tarhi) tarasā kṛtam bhavet
8. O sinless one! O mighty-armed one! If it is not possible to recover it here by conciliation or by gifts (dāna), then it should be accomplished by force.
