वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-77, verse-38

ततो महेन्द्रप्रतिमः स लक्ष्मणः पदातिनं तं निशितैः शरोत्तमैः ।
सृजन्तमादौ निशिताञ् शरोत्तमान्भृशं तदा बाणगणैर्न्यवारयत् ॥३८॥
38. tato mahendrapratimaḥ sa lakṣmaṇaḥ padātinaṃ taṃ niśitaiḥ śarottamaiḥ ,
sṛjantamādau niśitāñ śarottamānbhṛśaṃ tadā bāṇagaṇairnyavārayat.

padātinaṃ taṃ niśitaiḥ śarottamaiḥ
sṛjantam ādau niśitān śarottamān
bhṛśaṃ tadā bāṇagaṇaiḥ nyavārayat
38. Then, Lakṣmaṇa, who was equal to Mahendra (Indra), severely checked that infantryman (Indrajit) with his own excellent arrows, as Indrajit was profusely releasing sharp, excellent arrows at the beginning of the fight.
