वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-9, verse-36

न हि मे परदाराणां दृष्टिर्विषयवर्तिनी ।
अयं चात्र मया दृष्टः परदारपरिग्रहः ॥३६॥
36. na hi me paradārāṇāṃ dṛṣṭirviṣayavartinī ,
ayaṃ cātra mayā dṛṣṭaḥ paradāraparigrahaḥ.
36. na hi me paradārāṇām dṛṣṭiḥ viṣayavartinī
ayam ca atra mayā dṛṣṭaḥ paradāraparigrahaḥ
36. Indeed, my gaze does not naturally fall upon other men's wives. Yet, here, the seizure of another's wife has been observed by me.
