वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-45, verse-33

स तं परित्यज्य महारथो रथं सकार्मुकः खड्गधरः खमुत्पतत् ।
तपोऽभियोगादृषिरुग्रवीर्यवान् विहाय देहं मरुतामिवालयम् ॥३३॥
33. sa taṃ parityajya mahāratho rathaṃ sakārmukaḥ khaḍgadharaḥ khamutpatat ,
tapo'bhiyogādṛṣirugravīryavān vihāya dehaṃ marutāmivālayam.

sakārmukaḥ khaḍgadharaḥ kham
utpatat tapaḥ abhiyogāt ṛṣiḥ ugravīryavān

33. That great charioteer (Indrajit), abandoning his chariot, and armed with his bow and sword, sprang up into the sky. (He did so) like a powerful sage who, through severe asceticism (tapas), gives up his body, as if to the abode of the Maruts.
